Who We Are
Our mission is to provide a high standard of care for terminally ill people, their families and bereaved people in the community.
Ipswich Hospice Care grew out of the community’s belief that more needed to be done to improve the standard of care available in Ipswich for people who are dying and support for their families.
Initially providing home-based respite care and support services, Ipswich Hospice Care opened its doors in 1995 in a new purpose built complex. Ipswich Hospice meets the requirements of the National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards and is accredited with the Australian Council of Health Care Standards. With the opening of Hilda’s House next door, Hospice has expanded its services to include bereavement support, not only to inpatients (Guests) and their families but also to the wider Ipswich Community.
In December 2019 Ipswich Hospice Care welcomed our first Nurse Practitioner. The introduction of the Nurse Practitioner service has enabled Ipswich Hospice Care to expand services in to the community, with the establishment of an outpatient clinic and home visiting service.
